H&M: 3D projection mapping in the city centre in Amsterdam

H&M brought their flagship store in Amsterdam to live with a 3D projection mapping on the historic building. For over 3 minutes, guests and a gathered crowd enjoyed a surreal fairytale of light and magical effects. A red ribbon, wrapped around the building, untangles and transformed the building into a colorful dollhouse where nothing is what it seems.

I urge you to click on the title to watch the video! Awesome!

Some weeks ago, something interesting happened, "we" had a group hug, somewhat left me and Rl outside the crowd. What we did amaze myself, (cause the person we want to hug was "far away") we ended up pushing behind the group hug.

Under water, inside a train or both?

text by Costas Voyatzis for Yatzer

We all know that it is difficult to hold our breath under water, unless we are familiar with scuba diving! Nonetheless, the Amsterdam based design duo Million Dollar Design managed to take a deep breath and design an underwater world into an old rundown subway train. Commissioned by the Amsterdam Public transport Company, Million Dollar Design, represented by Dutch creative production agency Shop Around, were selected by Artists & Co to give a facelift to one of the 30-year-old "Silver Gulls" metro trains in Amsterdam.

Anneloes van den Bergh and Pauline Teunissen, founders of Million Dollar Design, blend illustration, photography and fashion to create a dreamy wonder-world with some dark accents. Their work is romantic with slightly rough edges. Faithful to their design values, they came across a romantic concept and they created an underwater world. Instead of a dark sense of dull gray stones on the ground and the plastic walls in the subway their design gives a sense of infinity in an underwater world where you feel like you can swim away. And although still being underground as a passenger, you are now in a colorful world of fantasy.. ..

Is'nt is lovely? I will board that particular load whenever I board the train. And I mean every single day! Ahhhhh.

'narrow mist'

With each of his new works, austrian artist erwin wurm reinvents the vocabulary of sculpture
turning it on its head. using simple materials, mundane objects, wit and written instructions, wurm invites people to interact with his art, transforming spectators into active participants, encouraging them to poke fun at the paradoxes of contemporary society. designboom just visited erwin wurm's interactive exhibition 'narrow mist', on show at the UCCA in beijing, which presents sculptures influenced by childhood houses, fashion fetishes an 'stuff' you can find in the chinese metropolis.

Ahhh, nice is'nt it so?

I got a hidden thought. I can't wait for 2011 to come by! OMG!

CD Sea

CDSea by Bruce Munro
text by Costas Voyatzis for Yatzer

Renowned for his adventurous sculptural light works and installations, Bruce Munro with the kind support of UK press and BBC Wiltshire radio, urged readers and listeners to send unwanted CDs to his workshop some weeks ago. The reason? Munro visualized an inland sea made of unwanted CDs. The public response was massive and hundreds of CDs arrived from all over the UK and as far afield as California and Brazil.

“You never know how something will work out, but now I could not be happier. I’m so grateful to everyone who turned out to help. We had a magical weekend and CDSea looks amazing, like a giant painting on the grass.”

Bruce Munro

Over the past weekend (19-20 June) 140 friends of Murno and colleagues, including Kevin McCloud and other celebrities from the design-art world, helped to lay the installation. The grass was mowed at Long Knoll field near Kilmington to prepare the ‘canvas’, and on Saturday each CD was laid with a stone on it, to prevent wind damage. This proved to be time-consuming and so the stone laying was abandoned on Sunday. The result? A stunning inland sea made of 600.000 CDs which are dazzling like mirrors reflecting sunlight and moonlight.

I really like this, amazing is'nt? Huge project!

Quiet Ensemble

Our perpetual quest for meaning, art and living new experiences continues to push new levels of creativity. We are all part of a chaotic yet harmonious ensemble we call life. Cars zipping through intersections and pedestrians aggressively walking to diverse destinations are just two examples of movements that create consonance or dissonance to our daily lives. The intervals of everyday life, walking to the subway, driving to work or flying to a far destination create harmonies like instruments, composing our complex society. Quiet Ensemble seeks to compose sounds out of the most casual movements of the "invisible concerts" of everyday life. Utilizing technology to capture, express and translate our most natural of routines, Quiet Ensemble builds narratives that explore not only the music of our lives but also conceptual relationships between the natural and built environment.. ..

Rearing fishes was a favorite past time of mine eon years back. There was a point of time I've got 6 tanks at home. Now, that fever seem to passed on to my elder brother. He's spending 1-2 hours fish watching.

Whenever I bypass him, I would scratching my head and wonder why.
