Paul Graham on Simplicity

help japan; part 3

when will we learn?

the world has suffered three tsunamis in 13 months. the 9.0 quake was powerful enough to shit the earth on its axis and make it spin a littler faster, shortening the day by 1.8 millionths of a seconds.

but, what felt like the end was the beginning.

japan, is a dream destination of mine. my heart was all scattered when i heard about the quake. japan, please be well.

help japan; part 2

A week after a 9.0 earthquake and resulting tsunami leveled large swaths of northeastern Japan, effects of the disaster are still rippling across the country and the world. Misery of the victims continues unabated, as shelter, food, water, and fuel have become dear. A nuclear facility crisis has both troops and workers scrambling to keep the situation from getting worse, while foreign governments are urging their citizens to evacuate.

ATHENA

I bought my first pair of ecco recently, I must say, I am glad that I did, the comfort level is 99 hit combo! Thank god Fred Perry and Lascoste do not have the design I want, not, the lighting will strike my pocket.

Well, I realize getting a good pair of comfortable shoes is essential its like the kind of food you glup down to feet your body. The feet for my case (or everyone elses), is glued to the ground for more than 8-9hrs per day, I did my math, its more than 3/4 of my time! So, I don't see any point of getting shoes that will present you blister!

As i threw my shoe away on impulse, I needed one badly. That is it, I think this fever for shoe hunt will go on till I satisfy my crave.

Beauty isnt? Ok, I need to hunt this down.

If dr marten isnt that heavy, I would have gotten a series of them! Shrugs!

21 suggestions for a successful advertising career

Lets be a little texty and feast in the visual of text shall we?

1. Find the right place to gain as much experience as possible in the shortest amount of time. This may mean a hot-shop independent agency, a large multinational or hopping jobs every 2 years depending on the available options you may have.

2. Work somewhere that's worthy of your time and talent. Don't settle for any job.

3. Put more effort into your job than expected and do it cheerfully.

4. Become the most positive and enthusiastic adman in the agency.

5. Be forgiving of yourself and others. We're humans and we make mistakes even when we only have good intentions. Don't allow such mistakes make you lose sight of long term goals.

6. Be generous with your contributions to the team's work. Do not try to take credit for every idea you came up with.

7. Persistence, persistence, persistence. Great work never just falls into your lap. You need to work for it, refine it, perfect it.

8. If you clearly see you're going into the wrong direction with your strategy do not be afraid to stop and rethink everything even if it means you have to start everything from scratch.

9. Discipline yourself to save money on even a modest salary. This will give you the freedom to change jobs when things go bad and will allow you to take meaningful holidays that refresh your mind and body.

10. Commit yourself to constant improvement. Technology and the industry is developing really fast. You have to keep up.

11. Commit yourself to quality. Do not ever settle for something less than your outmost best. Perfect your work till time allows.

12. Your professional happiness isn't based on the number of awards or how much you make, but on the relationships you have with your colleagues and clients. Treat them with respect.

13. Be loyal to your clients and your agency. It will be appreciated even by the competition.

14. Be honest with your work. Never lie or mislead the consumer. If you do you will feel miserable about your profession.

15. Be a self-starter. If you identify an idea take charge and go for it.

16. Do not blame others. If you're unhappy about something take the initiative to change instead of whining about it.

17. Be decisive even if it means you'll sometimes be wrong. Timing is everything in advertising.

18. Be bold and courageous with your work. When you look back on your professional life, you will regret the the things you didn't do more than the one you did.

19. Do not overestimate the value of formal education. Most successful adman never had formal advertising eduction. Real work experience is more valuable than any education.

20. Eat healthy, do sports. Your mind and body are your only tools available to you. Do not abuse substances. Save them for those critical special times when you really need a boost.

21. Don't take all advice for granted. Pick what's useful for you. Make up your own rules and change them at your will.

The half pulled rabbit.

The idea of popping champagne fascinates me.

What exactly is your idea of popping champagne?
To me, it is the very sense comprises that cherry which glazed off emotions.

I told L I would empty my vault for the celebration. Yet I was question by T for my motive behind those act. Oh, perhaps this is why it fascinate me, as every perception is a mental sense that lead to the physical act for popping champage.

Attest or bring it away?

The plant named Poppy

Poppy, the seeds used, whole or ground, as an ingredient in many foods.

Poppies have long been used as a symbol of both sleep and death: sleep because of the opium extracted from them, and death because of their blood-red color. In Greco-Roman myths, poppies were used as offerings to the dead. Poppies are used as emblems on tombstones to symbolize eternal sleep. This aspect was used, fictionally, in "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" to create magical poppy fields, dangerous because they caused those who passed through them to sleep forever.

How magnificent they are, concrete with the monuments thicken with the facts.

The taste of the seed some what resemble sesame, yet, a punch was added to it. Indeed, drowsy. But do you call this a drug? Or the natural form of a sleeping pills?

If, this is what addiction is, I am a drug addict. Not only to the flower named Poppy. But to many others.
